Who should be in the fifth spot of the rotation in '07 ? I think it should be Saarloos. He has proved himself the last couple of seasons as a starter and Kennedy has proved himself as a reliable reliever. I hoped for the return of Mulder, but the Cardinals decided to lock him back up and the A's were not going to pursue him anyways. I guess I can't get past the big three era.

I would like to see Windsor and Komine step up, but I'm not sure they're ready. Windsor was touted last year and the A's hoped he would dominate, but he just wasn't ready. This year might be different.

Not sure how to vote directly to the poll, but my vote would be for Kirk Saarloos as the fifth starter.

I can pretty much bet that Saarloos is gonna take the 5th spot in the starting rotation. What's nice about Saarloos is that, even though he only eats up about 5 or 6 innings, he always keeps the A's in the game, whether their down by a run or two. He's been pretty consistent in the past and watching Komine's debut was embarrasaing. Same goes for Windsor...those guys are just not ready. They need to go back to the minors and work on their nerves!!!

Not sure on the answer but pretty sure you should get rid of Joe Kennedy...he will bring your pitching staff down. Just my two cents...

I would've voted Captain Kirk, but since he was just traded away , I went with Kennedy. Just a little vent about Kirk, a couple years ago he was one of our five starters with 10 wins, last year he filled any and every role Mach asked him to. He was more than worth the million and whatever he signed for last week! I will never doubt Billy, but I don't quite understand this move. I know, I know, young prospects can grow into pitching phenoms for our rotation or trade bait, and Kirk wasn't going to be an ace anytime soon, or possibly ever. But he did save our rears more than a few times since we picked him up. We can totally make it without him, but I hate to think of looking in that dugout/bullpen and not seeing his happy face and messy hair (unless he shaves it again). I'm gonna miss his sinker.

Are you a big Swish fan? I live in his hometown but have yet to meet him.
