Hey everyone....I went down to Fremont City Hall last week to hear what was going on with the future of our A's, and listen to Lew Wolff's speech. I really appreciate the Green Stampede ballpark site task force, but in the end, I honestly don't think it's gonna do any good. Lew has this plan for his "village" and what not, as well as building a soccer stadium. I was informed it only would take about 50 acres of land to build a new stadium, and there are vacant spots in Oakland to accomadate that. But I guarantee you Lew Wolff is not gonna give up his "dream" just to please some A's fans (cuz believe it or not, a lot of fans are excited about the move). I, for one, am not because I grew up in Fremont and currently live 5 minutes away from the purchased land. The traffic is absolutely horrendous, especially during game time on Auto Mall Parkway and not to mention 880, north AND south. But I know there is nothing I can do to sway Mr. Wolff's decision. I hope nobody takes offense to anything I have written, because I want the A's to stay in Oakland. I have been going to games since 1985, and I have a lot of memories in that stadium. So if anyone wants to leave some feedback, go ahead.

That is very "patriotic" of you to go to the City Hall. Here's the deal. The A's are going to Fremont. That's the end of that. Do you really expect Oakland to put up a fight now? Wait a second. They never did. All we saw in the papers was about the A's moving, Fremont making bids, Wolff trying to get a new place, etc. And did you ever see anything about Oakland fighting back? Nope. Oakland didn't even try because who really cares about the A's when the Raiders are around?
As for Wolff, the A's aren't a team, they are a moneymaking opportunity. Believe me, if Rickey Henderson had bought the A's like he had tried to do, we'd be staying in Oakland. Why? Because the guy has got soul. The team has soul too. And the fans out there, they've got soul. Henderson was blown off by the A's management because all they want is money and they knew that Henderson would never want to move the team.
Here's the problem. We're not going to make it into the World Series until the focus on the A's is less about money and more about building a strong team. We did well last year because so many of our guys stayed. There's alot of turnover for this year and we'll keep our fingers crossed, but honestly we're probably not going to get to the World Series until we move to Fremont. Yes, it's depressing. But that's where there's money, and money is essentially the heart of the troubles of the Oakland A's.
Please try to come to as many games as you can this year.

Yeah, I know the A's are going to Fremont...I think I said it pretty clearly. Wolff has a vision and he is going for it. I know money doesn't buy you a championship though...clearly displayed by he NYY for quite a few years now. So the A's moving to Fremont does not guarantee a world series title. Anyways...so I am just a little sad that Mr. Wolff is gonna move my team. A lot of people say, "oh, there still gonna be the A's"...and I know that, but I'll never forget walking in to my first game with my dad in 1985 to watch the A's whoop the California Angels...and the walk-off hr's, and seein' the A's clinch at home, and all the playoff games...and gettin' crazy in LF (because there is no LF in the new plans). I guess I will just enjoy my last 5 or 6 years in my "HOME".

I lived in the city of Fremont for about 3 years theres nothing special about the city it. I hope theres some way the A'S can stay in Oakland to many memories for me. My first MLB game was at the coliseum!

I would love the A's to stay in Oaktown, but I like to be realistic. They are moving. Cisco and Wolff are too deep in deals and signings and what not. I'm mainly bummed about the bleacher situation, what is that triangle thing? That is not my idea of a good bleacher section. But I guess if a new stadium brings more fans to the games, which in turn brings more advertisment deals, giving the A's more money to use to keep our players in Oakland, err Fremont, I'm willing to go with it. I'm just hoping that we use the increased revenue to keep our guys, not necessarily sign free agent talent. I think the fact that we have seen so many guys come from our minor league system and grow into amazing ballplayers is such an endearing trait of the A's. I love knowing that at some point, a majority of our guys will get a chance in an Oakland big league game. I hope that doesn't change.
